Ear cleansing helps to remove earwax from the internal acoustic meatus. Usually earwax is soft and exits naturally.

If the acoustic meatus is narrow and winding, and the earwax dry and hard, a blockage appears that can cause a reduction in hearing and an earache.

The ear cleansing procedure is quick and usually painless, and it lasts about 5–20 minutes.
